New Yaohan Kid’s Cavern Displays

Eclectic Environments

The Challenge:
Based on the designer’s vision, our task was to create elaborate display pieces for various departments within the 35,000 square foot flagship store in the Sands Cotai Central mall.  The giant chandelier that serves as the centerpiece of the “candy vortex,” measures nearly twenty feet in diameter and features multiple cast resin lollipops, dangling candy ribbons and frosted color-changing globe lights. In the multi-shops area of Kid’s Cavern, rotating fixtures help show off the selection of high-end junior fashions while internally illuminated clouds cast a soft glow on the merchandise available in the infants department.

The Solution:
By taking as much care in the selection of the internal hardware and working parts as we do the materials we use on the outside, we ensure that displays like these are reliable over the long term. We were chosen for this particular job because of the quality of the work we do. And while we appreciate the importance of “pretty on the outside,” we know that “pretty on the inside” is important too.

Experience Counts:
Each of these colorful, sophisticated retail displays contain motors, lighting effects and multiple moving parts. Building and installing this kind of retail showmanship in a country with its own labor laws, electrical codes and safety considerations, requires patience and excellent communications skills…and sometimes just hand gestures. Understanding these parameters and the unique requirements of each country is where our staff’s collective years of experience in overseas installation become an immeasurable asset.
